Year 3, Day 85

img_5690You had so much fun with Gaga today!  Not Lady Gaga, whom we later watched on TV as she was performing the Super Bowl halftime show.  Amazing, but I digress.  You played with grandma inside, ate, and took your nap.  Then you played outside with sidewalk chalk.  You colored on paper bags to make silly faces, and you danced around with them on your hands to music videos on TV.

Day 293

IMG_3407Today was a little different than normal.  Grandma picked you up from school so dad and I could go to the Cowboys game.  This was the last preseason home game against the Houston Texans.  It was a whole lot of fun and grandma did a great job, but we missed you.  Dad missed picking you up from school, and I missed putting you to bed.

Day 56

IMG_0812This was the last day of your first week in school.  TGIF!  You got on a great schedule, and just in time for the weekend to mess it all up 🙂

This is going to be a busy weekend with lots of sports to watch on TV, so we stayed at home tonight and rested up.

Day 47

IMG_0737IMG_0761New Year’s Eve.  This year has had a lot of ups and downs, but mostly ups. On the up side, we got pregnant with you, we took an amazing trip to Sedona on our babymoon, we watched Germany win the World Cup, and our family grew stronger.  On the down side, we lost a family member just before you were born.  You never got to meet Ruthie, but she was an amazing dog.  I promise you, we’ll get another dog when you’re old enough to help take care of it.

You learned a lot this year, kiddo, even though you’re only about 6 weeks old.  I keep forgetting that… since you’re wearing 6 month clothing.  You learned the greatness of classic rock (which might be considered oldies by the time you’re old enough to appreciate it), your dad’s overall awesomeness, your mom kicks butt, you love basketball, you like blondes (specifically Rebecca Lowe and Dylan Dryer), wrestling is entertaining, the most worthwhile TV shows and movies are modeled after Marvel Comics and DC Comics… among other things.  You also learned how to hold your head up, how to grip, how to smile, the basic movements of crawling, how to sleep through the night, and the sound of our voices.  2015 is going to be so amazing, with all sorts of “firsts” for you.  We’re so excited!

One Month

IMG_059612/13/14; Your first month in the bank!  Milestones of month one: you found your thumb, you lost the hair on the top of your head, you started sleeping through the night, you’re wearing 6 month clothing, and you’re drinking up to 5 ounces at a time.

Today was so busy!!!  We went to your cousin JJ’s basketball game at the Fieldhouse, got barbecue, went to visit Grandma Recer, went shopping with dad, and then we came home and made dinner.  You slept almost all through the basketball game, whistles and all.  We showed you the soccer fields at the Fieldhouse, but you weren’t interested just yet.  You and dad totally had some bonding time, though.  You were fussy with Grandma for the first time, and she thought that you were trying to make her look bad.  We all know the truth.  Then, you and dad went to Best Buy and Target while I got a pedicure.  Last night we also watched Marcus Mariota win the Heisman Trophy.  You like sports; we’re going to keep it that way 🙂

Happy first month in the world!
